Along with the excursion, we get onboard of Etna cable car, we enjoy an off-road Unimog Jeep tour, and we are going to walk for a total of six hours, crossing some of the most suggestive trekking trails of the volcano. Get ready to experience the thrill of looking at the vertical walls of the Etna summit craters plunging and disappearing into the depth of the planet, to hear the rumbling of the explosions, and the look at the emissions of gasses. Escursion Details

Our guided tour to the Mt. Etna summit craters starts at 7:30 a.m. One of our guides will pick you up at your hotel, in Taormina, Catania, or surrounding towns. Once at Rifugio Sapienza (Nicolosi) on the south side of Mount Etna, using the cableway and an off-road 4x4 vehicle, We will reach our trek's starting point at an altitude of 3000 meters. We will climb to the top of the volcano with a three hours walk. Once at the summit, there will be time to enjoy the spectacular view of the sea, the Aeolian island, and most of Sicily's island. The excursion path on the way back passes by some popular landmarks like the Barbagallo craters and the Bove Valley. Our tours to the summit of Etna are scheduled to finish around four p.m.

Will we get on board of the cable car?

Mount Etna is an active volcano and if the south side trail is unaccessible we will climb to the summit from the north side, this means we won't board the cable car. The aim of this tour is to reach the summit of Mount Etna not to get on board of the cable car.

How Should I Dress?

At any time of the year you must wear long trousers. Always bring a sweatshirt or jacket. We will provide you with shoes and poles

Are there any restrictions for this Summit tour?

Yes, heart patients and asthmatics cannot take part in this excursion.

Why can the length of the trek vary from 8 to 16 kilometres?

Why can the length of the trek vary from 8 to 16 kilometres?
If after walking to the summit of Etna you do not feel like returning to the starting point on foot, you can use the Jeep transport service to the starting point, in which case the distance of the trek will be 8 kilometres.

What happens in case of unfavourable weather conditions

If the weather conditions are unfavorable, the tour will be canceled and you will not pay anything. If you have other days available, you can move the date of the excursion.
