About Us

We do not want to bore you with the story of our life, or telling you how good we are at what we do, since you will be able to judge for yourself after spending time with us. My self and Vera are both Sicilians, and we have a genuine passion for sports, trekking and photography and every time an opportunity to stay in touch with nature raises ,we grab it, as simple as that.

Vera studied photography at the European Institute of design in Rome and eventually she became a well establish photographer, while I studied sport science at the Chelsea and Kensington college of London becoming a personal trainer and coach.

After few years, we both came back in Sicily, we start dating and travelling around the globe as backpackers, hiking and taking pictures of landscape and ethnic minorities.

Now days we run our own sport and trekking agency in the est coast of Sicily. When we work, we are never in a rush to finish our trekking, we are proud to show the hidden places out of the main tourist paths to our guests an above all we love what we do.

Ivano

Founder / CEO

Is one of the two founders of Sicily Active and the supervisor of the Agency. At Sicily Active, a leaf does not move without him being informed… or so he believes!

Vera

Founder / Back Office

Vera is the head of the booking office and one of the founders of Sicily Active.

Andrea

River Sport

Andrea is the supervisor of all the river sports. Andrea is daily inside the Alcantara Gorges supervising and directing the Body Rafting Tours.

Davide

Mountain Guide

Davide is the senior mountain guide of Sicily Active. He spends most of his days on Mount Etna and the other Sicilian mountain ranges. He truly knows every corner of any Sicilian mountain.

Maurizio

Kayak Instructor

Maurizio is the kayak instructor and the coach of the local Kayak team.

Daniele

Boat Tour

Daniele is in charge of organizing all the boat tours along Taormina and Giardini Naxos coastline. Even though nowadays Daniele spends most of the time in the office, he cannot stay away from the boat for too long.

Carmelo e Cilla

Snorkeling / Diving

Carmelo and Cilla are in charge of snorkeling and scuba diving. Cilla is from Netherland, while Carmelo is Sicilian.
